Press release from the issuing company

Company to Unveil New Sorting System and Introduce Parcel-Handling Solution

Bell and Howell, a leading provider of solutions and services for paper-based and digital messaging, today announced its plans to exhibit at Post-Expo 2012, one of the largest international events dedicated to the postal, parcel and express mail industry. The show runs from Sept. 18 through Sept. 20 at Brussels Expo in Brussels, Belgium. Bell and Howell is exhibiting in booth 6050.

"We are looking forward to joining members of the European postal community at Post-Expo," said Les Stern, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bell and Howell. "Our focus is on providing the highest-quality solutions that deliver the lowest cost of ownership, and that address our customers' current and future needs. We are pleased to be introducing several such innovations at the show, and the European postal community will be the first to see them at Post-Expo."

"Post-Expo is a great platform for us to introduce our best-in-class mail, parcel-sorting systems, and sorting software platforms that enable postal organizations to further increase their efficiencies and achieve ultimate productivity," added Hendrik Fischer, Vice President of Bell and Howell International. "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to participate in this significant event and look forward to having good discussions with our existing customers and potential new customers."

Visitors to the Bell and Howell booth will have the opportunity to see the following technologies:

Criterion Elevate Sorting System
The Criterion Elevate sorter meets the requirements of mailers who need automation, but have space limitations. The compact design of the Elevate sorter greatly reduces the amount of space required to run a sorting operation, and is portable for ease of relocation during peak processing periods. In addition to handling a wide range of mail – from postcards to C4 – it also supports a variety of processes from simple barcode sorting to complex database lookups and image processing.

NetSort Sorting Software
The NetSort sorting software platform provides item-level tracking and scalable client-server architecture. NetSort enables companies to meet current requirements and positions them to be ready for future requirements by national postal authorities. This can range from Intelligent Barcodes to electronic manifest delivery. NetSort is available as an upgrade on a wide range of sorting platforms.

In addition, the booth will feature videos and presentations on Bell and Howell's Criterion Apex sorter system and the new Parcel Manager solution.

Criterion APEX Sorting System
The Criterion Apex sorter offers modularity and functionality that allows mailers to adapt as their businesses expand, and has the option to be configured as a multi-line optical character reader or barcode reader. This flexibility drives down the cost per mailpiece while improving productivity. The Criterion Apex sorter efficiently processes a wide range of letter mail in uniform batches or mixed with various types and sizes at speeds of up to 45,000 mailpieces per hour, and 70,000 postcards per hour. Processing time is minimized, and throughput is maximized by applying constant-gap and pitch control to every mailpiece.

Parcel Manager Solution
Bell and Howell is introducing Parcel Manager, a parcel-sorting and labeling system for parcel and mail expediters. Parcel Manager lowers the cost of parcel fulfillment and delivery by automating the tasks of reading, weighing, labeling and sorting parcels or large/thick mail. At speeds of up to 5,000 to 7,000 parcels per hour, this sorting-automation solution can pay for itself in a very short time by displacing the need for extra manual labor.
