Press release from the issuing company

Volker Petersen, President & CEO of Brown Printing Company, has been selected as an inductee in the 2012 Printing Impressions/RIT Printing Industry Hall of Fame. He will be honored with a special reception and dinner at the Gold Ink Awards Gala which will take place this October in Chicago.

Four industry leaders are inducted annually in The Hall of Fame. “We believe this class embodies the spirit of a printing industry Hall of Famer,” notes Mark Michelson, editor-in-chief of Printing Impressions. “These well-known executives have made substantial contributions that have elevated not only their respective companies, but have made a lasting impact on the printing community through industry involvement and technology innovation, as well.”

Petersen has been a part of the Brown Printing family since 1988 when he joined the company at the RCPC Division in Riverside, CA.  Since then, Peterson has worked in various roles in almost every Brown Printing and Gruner+Jahr printing facility throughout the United States and Germany.

Petersen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. He continued his studies in the U.S. with a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the Iowa State University.
