Kodak Versamark Spotlights New Products at Pre-Drupa Press Event

Press release from the issuing company

DAYTON, OH--Feb 26, 2004 -- Kodak Versamark, Inc. today introduced the new products to be demonstrated in May at Drupa 2004, a premiere trade show for the printing industry. The press conference attended by an international audience of over 70 journalists and editors heard details of the new products and received an overview of the strategic objectives of the company as a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company and part of Kodak's Commercial Printing Group. The company highlighted a broad range of printing systems from its full- and part-page printing systems families: -- The new KODAK VERSAMARK V-series system featuring the next generation of BUSINESS COLOR technology driven by the CS600 controller; -- New models of the V-series VANTAGE printing system and the recently introduced JETBLACK monochrome printing system. -- The 4350 UV system for greater printing capability. "Kodak Versamark is using Drupa, the world's largest graphic arts trade show, to highlight new technology and continued innovation from one of the leading providers of digital printing solutions," said Kazem Samandari, vice president, Global Marketing and Product Management for Kodak Versamark, Inc. "We are constantly improving our color quality and workflow to make high-volume, digital color printing a reality for a larger segment of the commercial printing and transactional document market. We are also further penetrating underserved markets by increasing our print quality and types of substrates on which we print. Our new V-series products, the 600 controller and the 4000-series UV printing systems are technological advances that will help advance our leadership role in our target markets." Kodak Versamark's newest V-series system features the company's highly anticipated next generation color technology driven by the CS600 controller developed jointly with EFI (formerly Electronics For Imaging). With fully integrated color management tools and support for multiple data streams, the V-series system has a print resolution of 300 x 1200 drops per inch (dpi) and speeds up to 100 mpm (325 fpm) with a throughput of over 1400 pages per minute. The next technological step in the BUSINESS COLOR series, this system makes production of high-volume digital color documents easier and faster. For imprinting applications, Kodak Versamark spotlighted the latest product in its 4000 series, the 4350 UV printing system. The system provides printing capability on a wide range of substrates, including almost all paper substrates as well as plastic, flexible packaging and paperboard, at resolutions up to 300 x 600 drops per inch (dpi). The new product is targeted to those markets that have been underserved by water-based inks. Several other products highlighted during the conference were indicative of the presence the company will have at the show. From the company's recently introduced systems products, the monochrome JETBLACK system and the highly modular VANTAGE system, to a special workflow solutions center featuring Kodak Versamark's software partners, the company clearly intends to present its full range of printing solutions. Drupa 2004, held every four years in Düsseldorf, Germany, opens on May 6th and runs through May 19th. Kodak Versamark, Inc. is in Hall 5, Booth B24.
