DPS Team Participated in ApppExpo 2012 in Shanghai

Press release from the issuing company

The annual show in Shanghai is considered one of the most remarkable events in printing industry. Total number of exhibitors exceeded 550 in 6 halls allocated for inkjet printing equipment and materials producers. By the way, the number of halls and the area occupied by suppliers of engraving equipment, LED and digital signage was nearly twice as large. Domestic manufacturers constituted majority of exhibitors.

DPS performed together with its partners SUN Innovations and SUN Franchising. Three models of printers based on DPS electronics were displayed at the show - a 2,5 m wide UV-LED Evolution, a prototype of a high-speed hybrid UV-LED printer able to print about 100 sq. m per hour, and a state-of-the-art textile printer equipped with Ricoh print heads.

Promotion of any foreign products to China is obviously a hard task. Industrial inkjet printers are produced here at very low cost and are abundant on the market. In most cases they use locally produced control electronics, too. Nonetheless, resulting from series of presentations and basic consultations we faced a strong interest of several Asian producers in DPS' latest development - PCI-express board providing the opportunity to develop extra-high capacity solutions for multi- and, in particular, for single-pass printing applications. A good part of industrial printers displayed at the show were equipped with Epson DX5 and DX7 print heads, and responding the trend we decided to start development of advanced print head control solution for these heads.

Regarding the UV-LED curing units, quite a few Chinese and Taiwanese developments different in size, power and cooling method were displayed at the show. Despite our prices are relatively higher, extra-long life time of our product (practically around 100k hours) made us able to market our UV LED units during the show, and we collected several good leads.
