Press release from the issuing company

LIER, Belgium and MANSFIELD, Mass., Feb. 25 -- Axeda Systems Inc., the world's leading provider of device relationship management (DRM) enterprise software and services, and Xeikon International, the world's leading supplier of digital color printing systems for professional applications, today announced that Xeikon has licensed the Axeda DRM system to further improve Xeikon's service and remote diagnostics capabilities for the Xeikon 5000. "Digital printing is the fastest growing segment within the graphics industry. To maintain its leadership position in this market, Xeikon continuously strives to enhance the productivity and reliability of its presses to provide more value for its customers," said Gert Saey, vice president Customer Services & Operations at Xeikon. "To support its superior uptime, every Xeikon 5000 comes standard with the Axeda DRM system, complemented by Acunia's wireless technology, allowing the Xeikon service organization to remotely monitor press runs and proactively intervene." "At Axeda, we share Xeikon's commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence," said Robert M. Russell Jr., chairman and CEO, Axeda Systems. "Axeda DRM will provide Xeikon with the critical elements of product and service differentiation over their competitors by enabling Xeikon customers to maximize equipment uptime, improve customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and cost management. Xeikon will be better positioned to manage its customer base and provide them with superior customer service." Xeikon digital web-fed color printing presses are ideally suited for 'print on demand' applications. Documents can be printed with variable data embedded for applications such as direct mail, account statements, and personalized catalogs. Xeikon presses can print on a wide range of materials, from lightweight paper to cardboard, foil, labels, and special substrates. The combination of speed, variation, flexibility, and quality make Xeikon presses mission critical for customers who are working on tight deadlines. Axeda DRM will help Xeikon provide enhanced levels of customer service. The Axeda DRM system is a distributed enterprise software solution that allows equipment manufacturers such as Xeikon to leverage the Internet to establish continuous connections to systems deployed remotely at their customers. Axeda DRM enables service organizations to proactively monitor, diagnose and repair equipment problems remotely, or schedule maintenance appointments to alleviate developing problems before systems actually fail. This reduces the number of costly unscheduled or unnecessary service calls, and increases system uptime to further enhance customer productivity and satisfaction. The first Xeikon digital color press to be equipped with the Axeda DRM system is the Xeikon 5000, Xeikon's new flagship for high quality and high volume production printing, which was officially launched February 19.
