Cereus Graphics Wins Best of Show Awards

Press release from the issuing company

Phoenix, AZ February 24, 2004 — Phoenix, AZ-based Cereus Graphics scored big at two recent printing awards competitions, according to Cereus Graphics President Tom Ginter. The company was awarded the prestigious "Best of Show" awards at the GATF/PIA Annual Print Excellence Awards ceremony held January 16th. Cereus Graphics was also honored with four Gold, one Silver, and one Bronze awards for outstanding work in the annual report, magazine, and presentation folder categories. One of the Gold award-winners—the Scottsdale Insurance Company (SIC) 2002 Annual Report—also won the Silver Quill award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill Awards program. "We were delighted to hear that our client had submitted their annual report to the IABC contest," says Ginter. "The recognition validates not only the high quality standards to which we hold ourselves, but also the pride our clients take in the work we produce for them." Sponsored by the Printing Industries of Arizona (PIAZ), the Annual Print Excellence Awards gala was held at the Orange Tree Resort in Scottsdale, AZ, with over 300 in attendance. Print industry guru, Frank Romano, was the featured guest speaker. The program celebrates the talents, capabilities, and achievements of the State's printing community. The IABC is an international organization with seven districts, including Canada, Europe and the Middle East regions, as well as African and Asia/Pacific regions. The SIC annual report was the only award of Excellence in that category, and was judged by representatives from District 5, which is comprised of seven states, 15 active chapters, and 1,800 members. “Cereus’ knowledge of unusual paper stocks made all the difference,” enthuses Melanie Cashatt, Scottsdale Insurance Company’s graphic designer. “Their experience printing on the unique opalescent paper make our 4-color images really shine, and their customer service is terrific. Mike Vrable, even Cereus' president, oversaw the project to ensure perfect execution.”
