Smart Document Solutions Opens Western U.S. Print Center

Press release from the issuing company

ATLANTA, Feb. 23 -- Smart Document Solutions (SDS), the world's largest health document processor, today announced the opening of a second print distribution center, this one in the western region of the United States. SDS has been fulfilling medical record requests in facilities nationwide for more than 27 years. In 1999, SDS pioneered an automated release-of- information (ROI) process which required a print distribution center to fulfill the more than 600,000 pages processed daily. Since then, SDS has been routing all nationwide requests through the Alpharetta, GA print center. To further improve turnaround time for western states, SDS has opened an additional print and mail center in Denver, CO. The new facility opened February 1, 2004 and complies with all Health Information Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) regulations. "Our national printing distribution model will further expedite the delivery and enhance the security of medical records for our customers," said Glenn Andrews, Chief Operating Officer. He added, "This will further our leadership position within the ROI industry since other ROI vendors still use antiquated copy methods and traditional U.S. mail delivery services; leaving a significant margin for human error." SDS has plans to roll out multiple print centers throughout the U.S.
