Vomela Installs Two Inca Onset S40s from Fujifilm

Press release from the issuing company

FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division, is pleased to announce a notable “first.”  With the recent addition of two Inca Onset S40s in their St. Paul, Minnesota location, Vomela Specialty Company becomes the first North American printer to own and operate the entire suite of Inca Onset large format digital inkjet printers manufactured by Inca and distributed by Fujifilm.

Vomela operates in the United States and Canada, with 18 locations throughout North America.  The company has grown through a series of strategic acquisitions over its 60 plus years in business.  Vomela’s C2 Imaging affiliate operates an Inca Onset S70 in its Denver, Colorado location and an Inca Onset S20 at its Vancouver, Canada facility.  The two new Inca Onset S40s installed in St. Paul join an already impressive lineup of Inca equipment, including two Inca Spyder printers and an Inca Columbia Turbo.  All of the Inca Onset printers include automation to maximize throughput.

Multiple locations and state-of-the-art equipment at select locations give Vomela tremendous capabilities and versatility.  The Vomela companies offer 20,000 square feet of large format inkjet digital printing capacity each and every hour of operation.  “Our goal is to meet all regional needs, and get any job done at any of our locations,” said Mark Auth, president of Vomela.

“Even with the arsenal of equipment we had, we were struggling to keep up with the increasing volume of wide format work we were seeing,” said Auth.  In order to achieve their goal of being the printer of choice for all of their customers, Auth and his team began the search for new wide format inkjet printing equipment to meet their growing needs.

“Once we pick a piece of equipment, we stick with it, and the Incas were proven performers for us,” Auth said.  Confident of the capabilities of the Inca line, Auth set his sights on the Inca Onset S40, the latest offering from Fujifilm and Inca Digital.  “We don’t make an investment like this lightly; we did our due diligence and found that the Inca Onset S40 was the best out there, with the newest technology and by far the best quality.”

Vomela is a market leader in the recreational vehicle, fleet and race graphic industries, and over the last several years has gained notable prominence in the retail graphics and in-store marketing segments serving major retail brand owners like Best Buy, Target Corporation, The North Face and GAP/Old Navy.

“A good portion of our point-of-purchase display work has switched from screen printing to digital,” Auth said.  The shift has occurred largely because of the requirements for regional customization, and shorter run lengths.  Five to seven hundred sheet jobs make sense now with the Inca S40 because of its speed and faster turnaround time.  “The S40 allows us to produce these smaller jobs faster and gives us flexibility in pricing which benefits our customers and gives us a great competitive advantage,” said Auth.

With the technical assistance of Fujifilm, Vomela recently achieved G7 qualification, giving the company an even greater competitive edge.  Auth said, “Several of our retail customers are very specific about their colors and actually require print providers to be G7 qualified.  Some of our competitors, even those that are G7 qualified, can’t print the corporate colors that the S40 can.  Having two Onset S40s allows us to bid on—and win—more jobs.  Auth went on to say, “We are very pleased with the overall speed, color, quality and reliability of these printers.”

Mark Auth summed up his company’s choice for expanding its lineup of Onset printers; “As times and technologies change, our go-forward strategy demands that our company and capabilities move with them.  At Vomela and our affiliates, we are continually looking for the very best equipment that will allow us to exceed our customer’s expectations in both quality and project turnaround times.  Our partnership with Fujifilm and Inca has helped us maintain this important objective.”
