French Commercial Print Shops Choose Heidelberg Presses

Press release from the issuing company

During drupa 2012, the Desbouis Grésil print shop, based in Montgeron, France, decided to purchase a new Speedmaster SX 102 eight-color perfecting press from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg). As a result, the company became the first print shop in the Paris area that will run the new SX press platform in the 70 x 100 cm (27.56 x 39.37 in) format. Desbouis Grésil was already the first print shop in France to install the Speedmaster CX 102, which was for the first time presented at IPEX 2010. In the Speedmaster SX models and the Speedmaster CX 102, Heidelberg is combining cutting-edge technologies from existing product ranges to form a new performance class that meets the needs of changed market requirements. The Speedmaster SX 102 uses state-of-the-art XL technology to further boost productivity. Desbouis Grésil is a full-service print shop that offers its customers a fully comprehensive service covering everything from data processing to marketing activities for customer communication.

The new Speedmaster SX 102 is to be installed in early 2013 and is equipped with the AutoPlate Pro plate changer, which enables fully automatic, staggered plate changes in less than three minutes. Impressed by the benefits of the Prinect Inpress Control inline measuring and control system, Managing Director Bruno Barbier decided to add this component - which controls color and register on the fly - to his order. The Speedmaster SX 102 incorporates a new perfecting device, reinforced side frames, and the tried-and-tested gripper system and cylinder bearing technology of the Speedmaster XL series. With optimized sheet control and the dynamic sheet brake in the Preset Plus Delivery, the press achieves a consistently high production speed of up to 14,000 sheets per hour. The touchscreen on the feeder also helps ensure the press is easy to operate. The Prinect Press Center control station with the Intellistart process-oriented operator guidance system comes with the large Wallscreen monitor, which makes operating the press even more convenient and efficient.

The various peripheral units - FilterStar Compact, CleanStar, CombiStar, AirStar, and WashStar - also enhance press performance while simultaneously reducing energy and resource consumption. This is particularly important for Desbouis Grésil, since the print shop is working to implement sustainable printing.

MM installs a Speedmaster XL 75-4 with coating unit
The MM print shop based in Vaux-le-Penil in the Seine-et-Marne region is also in the process of completely upgrading its machine park. As part of this process, the company is investing in a Speedmaster XL 75 four-color perfecting press with coating unit and extended delivery, which is to be installed in fall 2012. Exceptional productivity is ensured by comprehensive automation, which starts with the Preset Plus Feeder and runs right through to the pile of the Preset Plus Delivery. This is all rounded off by the new, ergonomic operating concept, including a feeder control panel with glass touchscreen. The Speedmaster XL 75 is thus systematically geared to fast, lean production.

Both print shops, Desbouis Grésil and MM, are part of the Imprifrance Group and generate sales of more than EUR 18 million per annum with a workforce of 63. The Imprifrance Group consists of 54 independent print shops in France that stand out due to high quality standards, transparent processes, and sustainable print production.
