Agfa Launches :Arkitex Courier Workflow Transmission System

Mortsel, Belgium – Drupa – 18 February 2004 – Agfa announced that :Arkitex Courier, a fourth generation Newspaper Workflow solution, will be added into the :Arkitex workflow family. :Arkitex Courier is a complete transmission solution that uses J2EE Application Server technology, which is at the heart of many of today’s e-business solutions, for compliant platform portability. :Arkitex Courier is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2004. :Arkitex Courier provides total control while, at the same time, giving users full automation. Each operator is provided with a full range of simple-to-use capabilities to make real-time decisions to meet changing production needs. Additionally, :Arkitex Courier can be integrated with a range of external planning Systems to complement the Courier planning environment. It is also completely file format independent, strengthening its integration capabilities. “Many of our larger Newspaper Customers desire Unix-based solutions. :Arkitex Courier targets the built-in portability, resilience and expandability of the technology to provide natural connectivity to other Enterprise components in the Newspaper,” said Andy Grant, Agfa’s worldwide director for newspaper workflow systems. :Arkitex Courier will support the full range of TX system network topologies and distribution needs however complex.
