Avery Dennison Introduces New Conform Chrome Accent Film

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Press release from the issuing company

Avery Dennison’s new Conform Chrome accent film provides a shiny, mirror-like finish for various automotive features providing automotive detailers, hobbyists and wrap shops with another option to personalize vehicles of all types.  Ideal applications for Conform Chrome include gas caps, side-view mirrors, stripes and door handles. The film is not recommended for full vehicle wraps.

“We tested Conform Chrome at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in 2011,” said Paul Roba, technical services manager at Avery Dennison Graphics and Reflective Solutions. “The response from auto restylers, vehicle wrap installers and the aftermarket community was incredibly positive. We’re proud to bring this innovative new product to the market.”

Decorative accents and details with Conform Chrome can be applied to vehicles, motorcycles, ATVs and Recreational Vehicles (RVs). Conform Chrome is an affordable alternative to real chrome and a perfect complement to Avery Dennison’s digitally printable MPI 1005 Supercast Easy Apply RS films and opaque Supreme Wrapping Film vehicle wrap products.

“I installed Conform Chrome on the door handles, side molding and hood accents on the Fiat 500s in the Avery Dennison booth at ISA Expo,” said Justin Pate, a world-renowned vehicle wrap installer and teacher. “It is cool stuff and the Avery Dennison Easy Apply RS technology makes it very easy to position and install as an accent on any vehicle.”

Conform Chrome comes standard with Easy Apply RS technology, making the film easier to install, because it will slide over surfaces before it is in place and allows air bubbles to be removed, saving valuable installation time. The film is extremely conformable, allowing for installation on rounded or curved vehicle components.

The film has a 3-year durability on vertical applications and allows for long-term removability.

Installers are encouraged to determine the suitability of the product for its intended use and for compliance with any local laws and regulations concerning the use of chrome film on vehicles.
