World's First Speedmaster XL 75 with Anicolor Sold to Medienhaus Reuffurth

Press release from the issuing company

Medienhaus Reuffurth in Mühlheim am Main, Germany, will take delivery of the Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor display machine immediately after drupa 2012. Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is unveiling the world premiere of this press in Düsseldorf, where it is generating a great deal of interest among visitors. The Speedmaster XL 75 with Anicolor for extremely short makeready times in the 50 x 70 cm format offers extensive standardization and automation of the print process for the cost-effective production of short runs. "We are proud to perform the field test with Heidelberg and are confident that Anicolor technology in the 50 x 70 cm format offers great potential," says owner Hans Reuffurth. The company was previously a field tester for the Prinect Inpress Control color measurement and control system on the Speedmaster CD 74 in 2006.

Reuffurth is still one of the leading litho producers in the region and attaches great importance to delivering top quality for its customers. As a full-service print shop with 75 employees, the media house is committed to color management in prepress and ensuring a standardized print process with the Prinect workflow. Hans Reuffurth plans to step up the company's activities in medium and large formats. The pressroom today is equipped with a Speedmaster XL 105 six-color press with coating unit, a Speedmaster XL 75 six-color press, and a Speedmaster SM 52, which is to be replaced by the Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor. "I inspected the Speedmaster SX 52 Anicolor in Heidelberg and was extremely impressed with the technology. However, as the medium format allows us to better meet our customers' needs, we ordered the new machine. We are confident it will significantly reduce paper waste and deliver top quality even with difficult print motifs and rapid production of repeat jobs," says Reuffurth. Another benefit from Reuffurth's perspective is that all Anicolor machines from Heidelberg are supplied CO 2 -neutral as standard.

With more than 1,000 printing units installed worldwide, Anicolor technology in the 35 x 50 cm format has really proven itself on the market and is therefore now being extended to the high-performance Speedmaster XL 75 platform in the 50 x 70 cm format. Compared to a press with conventional inking unit, the benefits of Anicolor can be summed up as "90:50:50", that is to say Anicolor inking unit technology results in 90 percent less paper waste (ensuring the greenest possible printing process), 50 percent shorter makeready times, and 50 percent higher productivity. Thanks to extremely fast and stable inking-up, OK sheets are often achieved after just ten sheets.

The next step is for field tests to be conducted for the Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor at a packaging printing company.
