H.O.PERSIEHL, an expert in the manufacture of folding cartons, had already mapped out its future in the run-up to drupa. Production operations at the long-established company based in Norderstedt in the north of Germany will in future benefit from a Speedmaster XL 162 seven-color press with coating unit from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg). 

Maximum productivity with Prinect Inpress Control / rapid pallet changing thanks to automatic pallet logistics 
The press is equipped with the Prinect Inpress Control spectrophotometric inline measuring system. It also has non-stop systems in the feeder and delivery together with automatic pallet logistics. This ensures rapid pallet changing and avoids production interruptions during pile changes. The new Speedmaster XL 162 large-format press replaces two competitor presses and is the customer's first Heidelberg machine. 

H.O.PERSIEHL is one of Europe's leading print shops. It operates nine presses with a total of 65 printing units and offers a wide range of surface finishing options in large-format folding carton production. For generations, the company has been using large-format presses from a different manufacturer.

H.O.PERSIEHL decided on the new large-format investment after thorough testing at Heidelberg and a number of its competitors. "Ultimately, the sophisticated concept and superior technology of the Speedmaster XL 162 won us over. The new press enables us to switch quickly from one job to the next. What's more, straightforward operation and robust technology deliver the reliability in production that will place our economic success on a firm footing," stresses H.O.PERSIEHL's managing directors Moritz and Philipp Persiehl. 

Founded in 1849, H.O.PERSIEHL is a family company. Brothers Moritz and Philipp are already the sixth generation of Persiehls to run the business. The print shop mainly manufactures high-quality folding cartons for the tobacco, food, and consumer goods industries. The company's portfolio also includes commercial, postpress, and surface finishing applications. Environmental protection, optimum quality, and good working conditions are top priorities at this business with its around 240 employees. An ultramodern solar installation on the roof of the new production hall generates around 26,000 kilowatt hours of solar power each year. As a result, the company will release approximately 300 metric tons less CO2 into the atmosphere over the next 20 years. Since H.O.PERSIEHL's management system was certified to DIN EN ISO 9001, it has been systematically implemented and has benefited from continuous further development in the areas of environmental protection (certified to FSC and DIN EN ISO 14001) and health & safety (OHSAS 18001).
