SEDA Invests in 27 Rapida Printing and Coating Units

Press release from the issuing company

SEDA International Packaging Group, a leading packaging producer based in Naples, Italy, is expanding capacity as part of a strategic growth initiative. It has signed a contract at Drupa for three medium- and large-format KBA Rapidas with a total of 27 printing and coating units. The presses will be installed at different locations and go live later this year.

Founded in 1964 by Salvatore D'Amato, today the SEDA group has 13 operations - twelve of them production plants - all over Europe. Several are in Italy, but there are others in Germany, France, Belgium, the UK and Spain. SEDA started off producing packaging for ice cream and foodstuffs. Its portfolio has since been expanded substantially and now includes non-food packaging as well. Some of the designs it offers are unique. The group's production plants comply with the most rigorous standards for food packaging, among them ISO-9001/2000, ISO-14001, GMP, HACCP, BRC/IOP and SA.

SEDA's association with KBA dates back many years. The three new presses, which will raise the total number of Rapidas at the group's factories to 13, will of course incorporate many of the automation features newly unveiled at Drupa. The SEDA group is thus safeguarding peak productivity and print quality well into the future.
