Posigraf Orders Goss Sunday Web Press at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

Grafica e Editora Posigraf, one of the largest printers in Latin America, ordered a new Goss Sunday 3000 web press at the drupa trade show today in Germany. The four-unit gapless-blanket press featuring an 1830-millimeter (72-inch) web width and a two-pages-around by eight-pages-across format will be installed at one of the company’s facilities in Brazil in late 2012.

“Stepping up to the wide, 2x8 format will give us far greater productivity and efficiency and it will expand the format and pagination options we can offer to our customers,” explains Posigraf owner Giem Guimaraes. The company currently operates standard four-pages-across commercial web presses. “We have a lot of confidence in Goss International as both an innovator in wide-web technology and as a partner with very solid support resources.”

With a Goss PCF-3 pinless combination folder, the new Sunday press at Posigraf will produce magazine, tabloid, digest, delta-fold and slim-jim products at up to 15 meters per second (3,000 feet per minute). Goss International will supply its Contiweb FDpaster, Ecocool dryer with integrated chill rolls and Omnicon automated control technology with the new press system.

Posigraf, a member of the Positivo Group, produces a full range of magazine, catalog, commercial and retail advertising products as well as school books.

“The standards for print quality and production efficiency have risen sharply in Brazil in recent years,” explains Guimaraes. “By adding the most advanced Sunday press technology, we will solidify our position as a leader that continues to set these standards and exceed the expectations of its customers.”
