EFI Launches Production Class Fiery-Based Oce 1000C

FOSTER CITY, CA and POING, GERMANY--Feb 18, 2004 -- EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, has launched a new powerful, high-performance Fiery front end solution, the Oce 1000C, to drive Océ's new CPS900 color print engine. Based on EFI's high-powered Fiery Q4500 platform, this production class server features a specialized suite of precision color management tools, seamless networking, industry-leading variable data support, and automation of many workflow processes to maximize productivity and efficiency for Océ CPS900 customers. The exceptional performance and color imaging quality of the Océ 1000C server is enhanced with the award-winning Fiery System software, EFI's leading edge technology for color management and job processing. This range of value-added tools includes the renowned Command WorkStation, the user interface that sets the standard for centralized, efficient management and manipulation of jobs; and EFI's leading color management technology, ColorWise, which gives users the control and flexibility to define color settings using ICC/ICM profiles. Additionally, the Graphic Arts Package, a suite of specialized tools designed to streamline workflow and increase productivity, assures consistently accurate color and print quality on the CPS900. EFI's industry-leading variable data printing (VDP) capabilities are available for a complete VDP production workflow. The Océ 1000C processes variable data print jobs at full engine speeds using dual Xeon Pentium 4 CPUs running at 2.8 Ghz. EFI's flexible and open architecture allows Océ customers to choose any authoring tool and create static and variable elements. An extensive range of VDP languages are available, such as Fiery FreeForm, PPML, and a host of proprietary languages. Productivity-enhancing workflow tools, such as imposition functionality for VDP jobs, resource management, and subset and record-level finishing, maximize throughput and streamline color VDP production.
