XDrum! UV from Luscher and Heidelberg

Press release from the issuing company

Lüscher and Heidelberg Druckmaschinen AG have announced their cooperation in the development and production of an innovative CTP system using UV technology.

Lüscher, as a globally active manufacturer of technologically advanced imaging systems, and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG have combined two cutting-edge technologies and worked together to develop an innovative external drum system that makes use of UV technology. The new XDrum! UV system represents an economical alternative, especially for customers with plate requirements of more than 15,000 square metres per year. Lüscher‘s high-performance UV laser system for the imaging of conventional offset printing plates is impressive for its great reliability, outstanding imaging quality and the enormous versatility it permits during platemaking.

“Through our cooperation with Heidelberg, the world‘s leading supplier of solutions for sheet-fed offset printing, we are enabling a much larger customer group than in the past to make use of our unique UV imaging technology,” explains Lüscher COO Anton Tanner. „In the fields of both technology and innovative focus, the two companies are very compatible as the development work for the new system made very clear,“ adds Peter Berner, Lüscher‘s CTO.
