GBC In-Line and Desktop Finishing Solutions to be Featured at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

GBC, a world leader in products that help companies present, protect, secure, organise and enhance their printed materials, today announced its inline, offline and desktop punching and binding solutions will be featured in a wide range of partner stands at drupa 2012.  ACCO/GBC has enjoyed a long history of partnering with the industry’s leaders in digital printing technology.

“We are looking forward to the opportunity our partners have provided for us to showcase our state-of-the-art inline and desktop punching and binding solutions,” said John Stasiw, ACCO Brands SVP & GM Global Print Finishing Solutions. “Our participation in their stands at this important show highlights the significance of automated punching and binding in a world where time to market is critical and where consumers and other buyers of print increasingly demand rapid turnaround of high quality, professionally finished documents from both their print service providers and their in-house fleet of printers.”

Featured Products
Released in February of 2012, the ACCO/GBC Magnapunch 2.0, together with a variety of desktop binding closers, will be shown on partner stands in Halls 8A and 8B (including booths A62, B46, C06, andB78). The Magnapunch 2.0 ushers in a new era in desktop finishing with its full colour LCD and electronic interface. Designed with increased productivity in mind, the Magnapunch 2.0 incorporates smart technology such as automated die sensing and revolutionary edge detection technology that enables more efficient set up and use.

“Our user research shows that mis-punches are a common problem  operators experience when using punching systems,” added Stuart Nelson, Product Manager. “And these errors are usually not detected until the documents are in assembly, causing wasted paper, more printing, and time spent reworking. Magnapunch 2.0 virtually eliminates mis-punching with its unique edge detection technology that automatically communicates an error message to the operator when paper is not loaded properly.  This huge advance in punching technology is only available from ACCO/GBC.”

Also featured at drupa is GBC’s in-line punching technology.
This interchangeable die set system supports all of the most common hole patterns for mechanical binding, including twin-loop wire, comb, and color coil.  These systems will be demonstrated in-line with the latest digital presses at several partner stands in Halls 8A and 8B.

Visitors to all of these partner stands, can also stop by the GBC section to receive a free laminated schedule for the upcoming Olympic Games in London. These special posters have been laminated with GBC laminating film using the market’s most advanced adhesive which has been validated and supported by Xerox, HP and Konica Minolta. This aggressive adhesive allows lamination film to stick to all digitally printed output, including the newer, more difficult to laminate pieces produced with today’s advanced fuser oil.

Special Show Pricing
“We are also pleased to offer special show pricing for many of our core punching, binding, and laminating products,” concluded Stuart Nelson, Product Manager. “We welcome visitors to come and discuss their individual print finishing needs and experience our newest products in operation.”
