Newspaper Project Ink. on drupa

Press release from the issuing company

Showing the Power of Print. This is the idea of the newspaper project ink., performed by young editors from the German Journalist School (DJS) and presented by the German Pulp and Paper Association (VDP) on its joint drupa-booth with Print Power on 3. Mai, 04:00 p.m. (hall 6, B01).

The class 50K of DJS has tried to deal with the different aspects of the medium print, using different journalistic genres and involving young photographers in their work. The newspaper has been designed by the Academy Print + Media North-West, the printing of 10,000 copies on Brite 55 g/m2 paper, sponsored by UPM, is done by the Rheinisch-Bergische Druckerei.

Portraits of paper entrepreneur Dr. Ulrich Scheufelen, newspaper designer Lukas Kircher, an interview with publisher Jacob Augstein, views on the relationship between people and paper as well as worth-to-know facts about paper and an analysis of paper as an information source for posterity are part of the 24 pages, written in German and English. QR-Codes are offering additional information.

The design of the newspaper is extraordinary. The Academy Print + Media North-West, an affiliate of the Association Print + Media Northrhine Westfalia, has tried to show, what Print can achieve. The holistic design concept for a newspaper shows, how the interplay of content, design, data and production can boost the value of print.
