Torraspapel Manufacturing Sites Receive ISO 50001 Energy Management Certification

Press release from the issuing company

Torraspapel’s Sant Joan les Fonts and Sarrià de Ter mills join the list of the group’s manufacturing sites with ISO 50001 energy management system certification.

The certification, based on a cycle of continuous process improvement, entails the efficient use of available energy sources, thus contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Sant Joan les Fonts mill, dedicated to the production of coated paper, is located in the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Nature Reserve in Girona, Spain. Sarrià de Ter, also located in Girona, manufactures uncoated and base paper.

The environment has always been a priority for Torraspapel, leading it to adopt best practices to ensure sustainable industrial development. Witness to this are ISO 14001 and EMAS Environmental Certifications, FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody Certifications, ISO 9001 Quality Management Certification, and, now, the ISO 50001 Energy Management System Certification that the mill has secured.

With this achievement, the Lecta Group, to which Torraspapel belongs, advances in its commitment to obtain energy efficiency certification for all of its manufacturing sites in 2012.
