WEILBURGER Graphics at drupa 2012

Also this year, WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH is present as exhibitor in Düsseldorf during drupa and informs its customers and prospective clients about its wide-ranging product portfolio of varnishes, adhesives and inks. 

Besides the very high-quality of the products, the safe packaging in the food industry is one of the key issues during the trade fair. WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH has recently re-catalogued its complete range of products and re-evaluated it in terms of its food conformity in accordance with current statutory requirements and the recommendations issued by the key testing institutes and certifying bodies FABES and ISEGA as well as by the Swiss Commodities Act SR 817.023.21.

In its recently published product manual, WEILBURGER Graphics presents its reworked product class list and provides its customers and other interested parties with comprehensive information on the application options of the individual product classes in direct and indirect contact with food in accordance with current statutory provisions as well as with more detailed information on the subject and related areas.

Printed samples has been elaborated in the form of beverage packaging (Club Mate and Club Mate Cola) together with STI Group and brewery Loscher and a highly refined food conform folding box with rlc l packaging, Marbach and Sappi.

Furthermore, the novel chip off effect coating is presented during the trade fair which was developed with Merck KGaA and Model-Kramp GmbH. 

The chip off effect coating is a two component finishing which can be applied by a printing press with one coating unit with UV drying.
This innovative effect is based on different surface tensions of the two lacquers and generates an optical and haptical 3D structure.

For quite some time WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH also offers under the product class SENOFLEX a co-ordinated ink and coating series for this market. It resulted from the specific requirements for special formulations for these products from the customers

Ink quality through:

  • Ideal processing times

best print technical performance of the ink at the plate or rather at the anilox roller while at the same time low cleaning effort

  • Optimized discharging properties

for an excellent ink transfer to the plate/printing substrate while at the same time reduced adding of the anilox roller in regard to the cleaning intervals

  • High concentrated ink series

low dot gain, constant vignetted screen tints, good drying characteristics for an excellent printing


And coating quality through:

  • Optimized penetration performance

fast drying in combination with our ink system

  • Blocking resistance and rub resistance

best possible wet blocking resistance while at the same time high rub resistance for further processing

  • Static and dynamic friction

excellent static and dynamic friction in regard to transport properties


The inks and coatings of the SENOFLEX product class from the company WEILBURGER Graphics have been specifically designed in regard to these quality criterions and are able to achieve excellent results also at high printing speed. Furthermore the optimized drying characteristics and the reduced cleaning effort and cleaning agents contribute to an increase of economic and energy efficiency.

SENOFLEX inks are actually available as euroscale inks as well as a mixing system with thirteen basic inks. The special inks which come out of it cover the complete spot ink segment; very brilliant gold and silver inks complete the product program. For finishing matt and glossy SENOFLEX coatings as well a wide range of effect coatings are offered from the extensive product line.

During Drupa WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH will present as give away a refined quadrinomial packaging which was developed in both sided corrugated direct printing with various coating effects. The packaging was produced together with D.&W. Flexo-Manufaktur, Merck KGaA, Smurfit Kappa and Mayr Melnhof. 

Further projects will be also presented during the drupa presence of WEILBURGER Graphics:

  • refined wrapping paper together with Merck KGaA, Horst Dürrschnabel Druck & Verlag GmbH
  • refined drupa fan together with Merck KGaA and K&D
  • additional collaboration with: manroland, IST Metz GmbH, Gallus Stanz- und Druckmaschinen GmbH, Steinemann Technology AG
  • the new image film of WEILBURGER Graphics
  • 27 highly refined printed samples of PrintCity out of the Value Added Packaging (VAPack) project.
