Tecnau / LasermaxRoll Present New Brand, Digital Print Finishing Solutions at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

At Drupa 2012, Tecnau and LasermaxRoll will introduce a new name and brand — TecnauGroup. Following the acquisition last year of LasermaxRoll by Tecnau, the TecnauGroup now represents products from both Tecnau (Italy) and LasermaxRoll (Sweden and USA). The TecnauGroup will demonstrate numerous new products and technologies at Drupa 2012 and its systems will be found in its own stand as well as the stands of multiple industry partners.

The TecnauGroup stand (Hall 6 / C74) will showcase new systems for perforating and punching, print image inspection, fan folding, sheeting/stacking, and book making. First, the new TC1750 Continuous Punching and Fanfold Perforator has been developed to make tractor holes and programmable static fanfold perforations, working in line with Digital Printers. The TC1750 eliminates the need for pre-processed paper and when in line with a digital press, it can be positioned before or after printing for maximum flexibility and compliance with specific printer requirements.

Next, the new PERFOFLEX TC 1550 FL2P has been developed to work with slack paper webs, in line with high speed digital printing systems and finishing equipment. The PERFOFLEX FL2P offers maximum flexibility for dynamic horizontal and vertical perforations and now also performs dynamic file hole punching.

The TC 1750 and TC 1550 FL2P will operate together in line with the WebVision print image inspection system and a new version of the Folder f5 fanfold stack system. The entire line will process rolls pre printed by DJM (Hall 8b / A76) using their new inkjet printer and the LasermaxRoll Unwind 550 and Rewind 555. The high speed Folder f5 is now even faster, supporting ultra-high speed inkjet presses. The Folder f5 features completely automated web feeding and form size changes to create high capacity compressed vertical stacks of fan folded output.

Also on display, the new Ultra Fast Dynamic Perforator PERFOFLEX TC 8300 has been developed to work in line with the newest and fastest Digital Printers, to process webs printed in 3-up mode up to 240m/min. The PERFOFLEX TC8300 is developed for wide 30.5" web presses and performs dynamic horizontal and vertical perforations. A key feature of the TC 8300 is its motorized knives enabling programmable vertical perforation positioning. The TC 8300 will also include a new technology demonstration of on demand variable cross perforations. This innovative technology allows the cross perforation length to change page by page, on the fly, just by reading OMR/2D codes without the need to change a blade. This patent pending technology provides complete flexibility for truly dynamic application changes.

For the first time at Drupa, the LasermaxRoll Stack 2220 system includes the Cutter c22 and Stacker s20 and features dual rotary knives for variable strip cutting in line at speeds up to 140 m/min. The double strip cut is used to remove cleaning lines produced by many inkjet printers or to create documents with bleed edges. The system can operate both in line with digital printers or offline. For this offline demonstration, two print partners will provide printed rolls—HP will print rolls on the T400 Inkjet Web Press and Kodak will print rolls on its PROSPER S20.

Finally, the TecnauGroup stand will also demonstrate the Tecnau BMS 400 Book Making System. The BMS 400 is a fully automated book assembling system ideal for:  cheque books, restaurant tickets, travel booklets, prescription books, and more. The BMS 400 has many options available to customize according to customer needs.

In the Ricoh stand (Hall 8a / B46), TecnauGroup will present its new ultra high-speed Roll-to-Roll system comprised of the new LasermaxRoll Unwind u20 and Rewind r20. The system will be installed in line with the InfoPrint 5000 VP operating at 220 m/min. The u20 and r20 utilize automated paper control and lightweight gearless airshafts for ease of loading and unloading rolls. In addition, the new speed-upgraded version of LasermaxRoll’s WebVision system will be in line with the InfoPrint 5000 VP. WebVision is installed directly after the digital printer to identify problems right away. WebVision is fully automated and analyzes print image quality, data integrity, and guarantees job completeness. It also connects directly to ADF systems for even greater end-to-end automation.

In the Canon stand (Hall 8a / C06) the Oce ColorStream 3500 color inkjet printer will have a Tecnau PERFOFLEX TC 1550 FL2 Dynamic Perforator and the LasermaxRoll Sheeter 568 system installed in line. In addition, a new product integration and partnership between LasermaxRoll and Horizon will demonstrate sheet feeding directly to the Horizon StitchLiner to create completed booklets in line with the Oce printer.

In the HP stand (Hall 4 / D60) for the first time at Drupa, two LasermaxRoll PageReady systems with FinishReady Controller will be shown in line on two HP Indigo 7600 Digital Presses. PageReady fully automates the process of cutting, trimming, collating, and stacking, to convert multiple image press sheets into smaller professionally finished pages without the demand for guillotine cutters. FinishReady Controller is a central interface to facilitate the automatic set-up, control and monitoring of in line or near line finishing devices in close harmony with the HP Indigo Digital Press. PageReady and FinishReady were released for sale in late March and the first customer deliveries will take place in late May after Drupa.

In the GMP stand (Hall 4 / C23) the new Tecnau PhotoReady solution will operate offline to cut pre printed and laminated rolls into photos in popular sizes ranging from 4 x 5 inch up to 12 x 18 inch. The system creates fully trimmed photos separated into groups and automatically diverts excess white paper. The photos will be printed on the HP Indigo WS6000p and GMP will laminate the web before it is transferred to PhotoReady for finishing.

In the IMPIKA stand (Hall 5 / C24) a new Tecnau Compact Pinless Cutter TC 7500 I will be integrated into the new Impika printer, which will be presented for the first time at Drupa. The Tecnau cutter has been redesigned to provide a very compact, small size cutter that can guarantee high performance and reliability to support the printing process.

In the CMC stand (Hall 14 / A04) a new Tecnau Super-Fast Pinless Cutter TC 7800 will run up to 200 m/min in line with the LasermaxRoll Unwind u10 and CMC 9000 inserting machine. With two independent paper feeding mechanisms, it process two 12” web width forms at the same time and cuts up to 80.000 A4 sheets per hour (84.000 11” form) enhancing the overall performance of the inserting workflow.

In the MB Bäuerle stand (Hall 13 / D49) a Tecnau Turbo cutter TC 1013 T will operate in line with the new MB multi format inserting machine autoSET B4 HighFLEX.

Finally, in the Bell & Howell stand (Hall 4 / A24) a Tecnau cutter TC1000F will operate in line with the Bell & Howell Forerunner 13 Gripper Arm Machine to feed a sheet feeder.
