GMC and Partners to Highlight GMC Inspire at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

GMC Software Technology, a leading provider of customer communications and output management solutions, today announced the company’s participation at Drupa, taking place in Dusseldorf, Germany, May 3-16, 2012.  Joining with the company’s hardware partners, HP (hall 13/ A75), Océ (hall 08A/B08-1) and Xerox (hall 08B/A62L), GMC will demonstrate how its latest solution GMC Inspire, can add value to printed customer communications while also increasing operational efficiency.

“Digital communication ‘channels’ have certainly seen their fair share of attention over the last few years as the ‘new’ marketing platform. However, print still plays a prominent role in engaging and retaining customers,” said Bill Parker, CMO at GMC Software Technology. “With the help of our partners at Drupa, we’ll show attendees how they can get the most out of their print-based campaigns.”

According to a recent study by Epsilon, a leading marketing services firm, while social media has surged over the last few years as a popular marketing medium, consumers say they are most likely to hear about new brands, products or services from offline media and word-of-mouth. In addition, when it comes to direct mail, six out of ten U.S. consumers say they enjoy getting postal mail about new products.”

The same study goes on to state that across key vertical markets, including financial services and insurance industries, direct mail is preferred over email by all respondents. In addition, according to research and measurement firm Nielsen, contrary to the message that print channels are losing ground to digital as a means of influence, consumers say it is print that creates the most authority over store and shopping choices. A key finding from Nielsen’s survey also states that direct mail (92%) leads as the most influential channel for the majority of the “most tech-savvy generation.”
