Roland DGA Corp. has introduced the 64-inch VersaArt RE-640 four-color printer, upgraded with the company’s newest eight-channel printhead technology and other advanced features that make it both a powerful production platform and one of the industry’s best-in-class values.

Priced at $16,995, the RE-640 is ideally suited for volume production of signs, posters, vehicle and wall wraps, banners, backlit displays and more.  As Roland’s first VersaArt printer to incorporate the company’s gold-plated printhead technology, the RE-640 produces precise details, flawless skin tones and the most subtle gradations.  Its double CMYK ink configuration has been mirrored (CMYKKYMC) to prevent banding in bi-directional mode, and Roland Intelligent Pass Control further enhances image quality by minimizing any trace of ink bleeding and ensuring precise media feeding between passes.

Designed for production printing, the VersaArt RE-640 produces rich, vivid colors at print speeds up to 248.6 sqft/hr.   Automated maintenance features, including a new printhead wiper system, minimize ink, labor and downtime, and an optional take-up system handles media rolls up to 88 pounds for long unattended production runs.  Roland VersaWorks RIP software is included, featuring variable data printing and advanced color management tools, including the Roland Color Library for easy, accurate spot color matching.  The RE-640 is also backed by the Roland OnSupport service, a remote monitoring system that automatically sends email alerts to any designated smart phone or computer when a job is completed or ink runs low.
