IMPIKA Reveals the Proof of Concept Genesis at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

Today’s product offer shows two main types of printing solutions :
- service bureau environments equipped with digital color cut sheet laser printers worth about €100k and producing about 100 ppm in high printing quality,
- and industrial environments, continuous feed color inkjet printers at less than €1 million and producing about 500 ppm with a good printing quality.

Genesis, the IMPIKA proof of concept
IMPIKA’s objective with the Genesis solution is to introduce to the market a new solution which is an intermediate between the production copier and the high volume industrial printer. “This concept answers the growing customers’ needs for a printing solution with a productivity ranging from 300 000 to 2 million A4 sides per month on a small footprint. This concept meets also the new trend in trade for the mutualization of transactional and direct mail markets” explains Paul MORGAVI, President of IMPIKA.

The Genesis concept uses inkjet technology and offers a web to sheet solution, able to print high quality (over 1000 dpi) monochrome and color A4 and “US Letter” and producing up to 160 sheets per minute in simplex or duplex mode at a very competitive cost per page.

This solution will be primarily destined to medium-sized integrated print centers (invoicing, health insurance, regional and local banks, direct mail, utilities ...) as well as to other document printing providers for small and medium productions and reprints.

Based on its reputation, IMPIKA innovates once more in terms of printing performances, user-friendly man/machine interface and reduced footprint, allowing Genesis concept to integrate both industrial and office environments. IMPIKA opens with this concept new possibilities of growth and markets for inkjet technology up to now dedicated to other technologies.

“The Genesis concept is the starting point of a new IMPIKA product range that will have several versions based on technical and economical performances only achievable by the inkjet technology.” conclude Paul Morgavi.

The presentation of the Genesis concept in duplex printing mode at Drupa (Hall 5 Stand C24) will be an opportunity for IMPIKA to collect feedback from customers in order to fine tune the final specification of this concept before to become a product.
