Agfa Graphics' :Jeti 3020 Titan at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

Taking a major presence on Agfa Graphics’ stand at drupa are two options from the company’s versatile UV-curable :Jeti 3020 Titan series, demonstrating different print-head configurations and their adaptability for highly productive ink-jet printing in a multi – application environment. The :Jeti wide-format printer family is designed to handle heavy work-loads within a 24/7 work schedule, offering state-of-the-art functionality and build quality, with high resolution output.

The :Jeti 3020 Titan is being shown in two versions to signify how its modularity makes it an easily configurable unit for display producers and PSPs. As a 36 head configuration the machine will be running CMYK plus highly opaque white ink, showing pre- and post-printing options as well as spot white. In its 48 head version the system is configured with eight sets of CMYKLcLm ink for optimum productivity and quality in both rigid and roll-fed modes.

Productivity, reliability and durability are key components to the :Jeti Titan 3020 which has a maximum print area of 3.2 x 2m in its flat-bed configuration, and the ability to be modified to handle heavy-duty rolls of material with its FTR (flat-to-roll) option. The bed design and construction makes it easy to load and unload media, with the :Jeti 3020 Titan being able to start printing from the rear or front position. It prints at the same high speeds for roll-to-roll and rigid materials, which makes it the most versatile wide-format printing solution on the market.

The unique moving table principle results in extremely high precision dot positioning, which enables even the trickiest of applications, including lenticular printing, to be produced flawlessly. This accuracy incorporates enhancement features that have been implemented in the software, such as gradient masking and nozzle redundancy, and which result in the best quality results even at the highest throughput speeds.
The build standards of the :Jeti 3020 Titan reflect its capabilities as an industrial strength wide-format platform which incorporates rugged construction with operator friendly design and features. The user interface is highly intuitive, in common with all other machines in the :Jeti family, minimizing errors and saving time during set-up and production cycles.

Agfa Graphics’ high pigmented :Anuvia UV-curable ink-set combined with a lamp house design which minimizes heat emission to the media and table surface, allows for printing thin and heat sensitive substrates. The inks have a very widegamut, which matches or exceeds industry targets, so that color standards are straightforward to achieve, maintaining correct saturation whilst retaining low overall consumption.
The :Jeti Titan 3020 is configured to be a future-proof solution that enables display producers to upgrade their machines inline with business growth. As demands grow, the system can be enhanced to user specifications to incorporate additional colors and print heads for higher speeds.

Typical configuration choices for the :Jeti 3020 Titan – over and above the standard CMYK versions – include light cyan and light magenta and white. Double white and orange for accurate Pantone- and spot color reproduction are foreseen in future releases. The number of heads depends on the speed and color requirements, to guarantee optimum throughput whilst maintaining the highest quality. All these enhancements can be added when required.
Similarly, the :Jeti 3020 Titan can be configured from a minimum of 16 up to a maximum of 48 heads to suit differing productivity and quality requirements, with optimum print speeds of 226 square m/hour (2,432 square feet/hour). The standard mode of CMYK can be extended with additional print-head assemblies for high-speed throughput, along with extra color options.

In common with all other :Jeti printers, the :Jeti 3020 Titan is supported by Agfa Graphics’ global services, optimized for wide-format production.

The :Jeti series of mid- and high-range industrial platforms sit alongside the cost-effective :Anapurna family and the :M-Press Tiger and :M-Press Leopard in Agfa Graphics’ ink-jet portfolio resulting in a full range of solutions for screen-printers, sign-makers, display producers, PSPs and industrial printers wanting to move into digital production.
