New MonoCube Printer to Use Direct Sales Channel

Press release from the issuing company

Swiss-based Graph-Tech AG is to reveal the first of its inkjet printing press range at the world’s largest printing trade show in May. The reputable engineering company has recently set up its own inkjet division drawing on its solid inkjet expertise, gained through the manufacture of first class inkjet systems for leading digital printer manufacturers. The newly founded Cube Inkjet Division is the birth place of the MonoCube printer range, which will not be sold through standard distribution channels. The printing presses will be marketed directly to customers within the high-speed commercial printing market, using a non-click based sales model.

’After working closely with our customers over the past 22 years, we have found out exactly what the market needs and wants,’ comments Reto Simmen, Business Operations Manager at Graph-Tech. ‘The market has been crying out for a printer which does not tie them into the conventional purchasing model larger companies employ. So we created an exceptionally versatile printer with a highly intuitive WiFi-enabled touch-screen interface, making it really simple for the customers to use and maintain themselves. As a result there will be no costly pay-per-click service contracts and this will show a significant cost improvement in every page that is printed.’ he adds.

The MonoCube printing presses use Graph-Tech printheads based on the advanced Kyocera technology. The printing solution boasts the smallest footprint (2.5m wide x 1.7m high x 1.7m long) on the market today and is a truly flexible mid-range, volume-based workhorse. It can print at two speeds - 75m/minute (246ft/minute) and 150m/minute (492ft/minute) simplex or duplex - and comes in four different printing widths: 445mm (17 inches), 558mm (22 inches), 670mm (26 inches) and 783mm (30 inches) wide.

‘The presses are ideal for SMEs who do not have the space or the contract work needed to accommodate a larger printing press, but who still want to be able to react quickly and cost-effectively to their customers’ needs. We enable our customers to harness our technology to create a truly profitable business,’ comments Ghislain Segard, head of the new Cube Inkjet Division.
