ProLabel Installs a Xeikon 3030

Press release from the issuing company

Xeikon NV, an innovator in digital color printing technology, announced today that ProLabel, a manufacturer of digital labels, has purchased and installed a Xeikon 3030 to meet its customers' growing demand for high quality digital labels.

Established in 1995, ProLabel specializes in digital color labels for the cosmetics, food and beverage industries. The company is based in southern Florida and serves customers across the U.S.

Since its founding, the company had always used a conventional flexographic press. ProLabel's founder, Ramon Fernandez, began looking into digital presses when he started to see a shift in his business turning towards shorter runs. The flexo technology, which requires lengthy plate processing and make-ready times, wasn't up to the task of handling shorter runs cost effectively. "I took an exhaustive look at what was available on the market, traveling across the U.S. to see for myself what could satisfy ProLabel's customer base," Fernandez said. "I needed a digital press that, once installed, I wouldn't have to worry about a thing. That's when I found the Xeikon 3030. This press delivers high-quality labels in a much shorter timeframe than what we were used to."

The Xeikon 3030 is the entry-level model in the Xeikon 3000 series of digital label presses. This enabled an easy transition to digital technology for ProLabel. The press is capable of handling web widths of up to 13 inches to meet growing demand.

As ProLabel's business grows, the company can upgrade its Xeikon 3030 to one of the other press models in the Xeikon 3000 Series in the field to handle wider web widths (20.3 inches) and/or faster print speeds/monthly duty cycles to match the increasing demand.

"Shorter time-to-market windows have increased demand for shorter label runs and less waste," said Michael V. Ring, president of Xeikon America, Inc. "By investing in digital technology, ProLabel can print exactly the quantity of labels that its customers need and be confident that their customer will be satisfied with the image quality of the output and the turnaround time to deliver the finished products."
