Xitron Announces Navigator Direct-to-Film Workflow

Xitron, the prepress industry's leading independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, RIP management software and workflow solutions, announced the availability of the Navigator Direct-to-Film Workflow supporting EPSON Stylus Pro printers for use by screen, flexo and commercial printers requiring film negative or film positive output.

Navigator DTF Workflow incorporates a wide selection of user-requested features and options, including:

  • User controllable job management and ticketing capabilities
  • Integrated soft proofing

The Navigator v9 RIP core includes:

  • High performance Harlequin RIP core
  • Direct film driver for Epson Stylus Pro printers
  • Ability to accept PDF and PostScript files
  • High and low resolution halftone screening
  • Selectable resolutions of up to 2880 x 1440 dpi
  • Line screens up to 133 lpi on film
  • Output device control at operator workstations

The Navigator DTF RIP Workflow includes Mac and PC clients and support for one Epson Stylus Pro printer.  Additional clients are available as well as the ability to support multiple Epson printers for both film and proofing from a single workflow system.

The Navigator DTF RIP Workflow incorporates sophisticated on-screen soft-proofing tools that allow the user to see the final processed job. The integrated soft-proofing viewer is adjustable from 5%-800% magnification, allowing the user to inspect the file in a processed format. Jobs can be viewed as a composite or any combination of single or multiple separations.

The Navigator DTF RIP Workflow will be available exclusively through Xitron dealers. Xitron offers the workflow as both a software package and an all inclusive workflow bundle, including software, computer platform, onsite installation, training and a one-year Xitron Software Support Agreement in North America. Outside North America, Xitron dealers and distributors offer similarly configured solutions.
