Trelleborg at drupa 2012

Press release from the issuing company

Trelleborg Printing Solutions, a leading manufacturer of offset printing blankets and sleeves, will launch the latest addition to its popular Vulcan range at Drupa 2012. The Vulcan Synthesis Evo is the company’s next generation of sleeve development for the heatset sector and has been specifically designed to significantly improve print quality and lifetime performance.

Featuring an innovative new design and carrier, the new printing sleeve has been developed for use on all sleeve web presses where the sleeve is mounted in a fixed radial position. The Vulcan Synthesis Evo has a continuous print surface providing full bleed printing capability so that the plate image length is maximized to the available plate cylinder print area. Its internal construction provides continuous image transfer throughout the plate cut-off area, ensuring minimal paper waste from the plate cylinder non-print area.

Thomas Linkenheil, Managing Director, Trelleborg Printing Solutions, commented: “We are excited to be able to showcase the latest addition to our successful Vulcan range of printing blankets at Drupa 2012. Drupa is the Olympics of the printing industry, and so what better event to introduce our latest star, the Vulcan Synthesis Evo!

“The new composite base of the sleeve provides improved holding power to the press cylinder after mounting, thereby eliminating all radial movement during printing, ensuring exact synchronization with the plate gap. In addition, it is extremely durable, resisting damage from dents and dings associated with handling during installation and removal.

“The highly engineered compression layer gives increased value by maintaining printing pressure load over millions of impressions, and the print surface compound has been designed with improved abrasion resistance to automatic blanket washing systems. In addition, all layers of the Vulcan Synthesis Evo have been designed to provide solvent resistance to low VOC press chemistry.”

In addition to showcasing new products such as the Vulcan Synthesis Evo, Trelleborg will go the extra mile at Drupa 2012 and demonstrate the capabilities of its entire range of high-performance printing solutions with The Institute of Contemporary Print.

Located on stand B61, Hall 6, it will provide a creative and interactive space in which visitors to the show can relax, experience exciting art and discover the possibilities of modern print.
