Braintree Printing Joins the Sponsor-A-Highway Program

Press release from the issuing company

Braintree Printing, a digital and offset printing company serving printers and print brokers throughout the Northeast, is cleaning two stretches of roadway in the Boston, MA area through its recent partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s Sponsor-A-Highway program. With Earth Day 2012 just around the corner, this new association is one more way the environmentally-conscious printer is protecting the environment and reaching out to the communities it serves.

The Sponsor-A-Highway program allows civic-minded businesses to “adopt" portions of highways and adjacent areas in return for a monthly fee and the cost of signs which recognize them as sponsors. Designated portions of the Highway are professionally cleaned twice a month by Adopt-A-Highway Litter Removal Service of America. Two 42” x 60” signs bearing Braintree Printing’s logo and promoting its sponsorship have been installed roadside on Rt. 93 North in Randolph and on Rt. 3 North in Braintree.

Braintree Printing’s owner Jim Corliss said the Sponsor-A-Highway program is the perfect use of his company’s marketing dollars. “Our brand gets great exposure and we’re keeping Massachusetts roadways beautiful for travelers and potential customers. We’re in the business of printed signage so this is a natural reflection of what we do.”

According to Joyce Urman, New England Territory Manager for Adopt-A-Highway Litter Removal Service, “Each sign paid for by Braintree Printing allows us to clean sections of the highway that otherwise would be the responsibility of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. Our crews walk the two miles along the side of the road and pick up every piece of litter.” Urman said the MA Department of Transportation is particularly short-staffed this year and litter control has suffered. “Businesses who sponsor signs are really helping Massachusetts and their local communities as well,” she said.
