Roland Adds White Ink Options to Best-selling Inkjet Printer / Cutters

Friday, March 23, 2012

Press release from the issuing company

Roland DGA Corp. has expanded the versatility of its popular inkjet printer/cutters with the addition of new white ink options that open up profitable new markets and applications for users.

Priced at just $8,495, the VersaStudio BN-20 desktop printer/cutter is now available in a new CMYK plus white ink configuration, making it the industry’s lowest-cost, outdoor-durable white ink printer.  VersaCAMM VS inkjet printer/cutters, already available in a white ink configuration, can now be purchased with two channels of white ink for even brighter, more opaque images and faster production speeds.  Both Roland product lines feature integrated contour cutting capabilities and are also offered with metallic ink options.

“We are seeing a lot of demand for our white ink printers, particularly as users discover both their versatility and the quality of their output,” said Eric Zimmerman, product manager for Roland DGA Corp.  “There are so many profitable applications for white ink, especially when combined with contour cutting, including window clings, labels, decals, backlits and packaging comps.  Now there are several Roland white ink platforms to choose from, making it easier and more affordable than ever to get into these markets and also to add more advanced capabilities as your business grows.”

Featured in all Roland white ink printer/cutters, White Eco-SOL MAX ink produces exceptional highlights, text and graphics with crisp, defined edges and smooth gradations on both clear and reflective media. It also greatly enhances the vividness of four-color printing when applied as an undercoat.  To minimize production costs, Roland white ink printer/cutters come with an automated ink circulation system that reduces ink usage and maintenance requirements.  VersaWorks RIP software, also included, recognizes the unique properties of white ink for outstanding results.

The 20-inch VersaStudio BN-20 is ideal for businesses just getting into the sign market and for those adding capacity to an existing production environment.  Available in 30, 54 and 64-inch models, the VersaCAMM VS is among the industry’s most versatile production printers.  The new double white configuration requires the addition of a Benes OnlineDryer S unit, also available from Roland.

In addition to VersaCAMM VS and VersaStudio models, White Eco-SOL MAX ink is available as an option for the SOLJET PRO III XC-540 and XC-540MT. For more information, please call Roland customer services at (800) 542-2307 or visit www.rolanddga.com.
