Fineline Earns G7 Master Printer Status

Press release from the issuing company

Fineline Printing Group is now a certified G7 Master Printer.
G7 certification ensures color consistency across all print products so that all materials—no matter the substrate—will look remarkably alike to the human eye. Similarly, G7 ensures consistent color between printing and proofing processes as well as consistent achievement of critical color standards that are essential to company and brand identities.

Since most print buyers and brand managers believe the similarity of the visual appearance across print channels—such as sales collateral, advertising, and final packaging— is critical, they now make G7 certification a buying requirement.

“Many of our customers are now requiring G7 certification because they need consistent color across different media. In addition to ensuring exceptional quality, it also helps Fineline reduce costs and shorten turnaround time,” says Ric Miller, Fineline’s Vice President of Manufacturing.

To achieve the G7 Status, Fineline hired a G7 Expert Consultant who qualified their proofing and printing systems. Certification was officially granted by IDEAlliance®, a non-profit industry association that guides and publishes print media methodologies, specifications, and standards. To continue its Master Printer status, Fineline must complete a yearly re-certification to assure they maintain IDEAlliance’s calibration and processes.

Jill Wangler, Fineline’s marketing director comments, “People often forget that printing is a custom manufacturing process. Color reproduction issues often stem from subjective communications. It’s hard to put color into words. [For example] ‘It needs more red’ or ‘it’s too cool or too warm.’ G7 helps us give our clients the closest visual match from proof to print.”
