Goss International at the CPP Expo 2012

Press release from the issuing company

In its first appearance at CPP EXPO (18th – 19th April 2012, I-X Center, Cleveland, Ohio, USA), Goss International is presenting its web offset alternative for packaging printing, the Sunday Vpak presses. Exhibiting on Booth # 431, the company will showcase models featuring quick-change sleeve technology, available in web widths up to 75 inches.

Adapting the proven Sunday press core technology, the specialized Sunday Vpak design introduces latest advances in web offset technology to an expanded range of applications to include flexible packaging, folding cartons and labels. Utilizing quick-change sleeve technology for variable-repeat settings, it provides a high-quality, cost effective alternative to flexo, gravure, sheetfed offset and traditional cassette-style web offset due to the proven print quality, speed and efficiency of the Sunday press.

Peter Walczak, Goss International director of product management – packaging, explains, “This agile, efficient operation in combination with higher quality at higherspeeds on wider webs is the Sunday Vpak formula that can drive lower cost-to print scenarios for folding cartons, flexible packaging and labels.”

Goss Sunday Vpak press models are available in narrow and wide web widths from 20.5 inches (510 mm) to 75 inches (1905 mm). The advanced inking, dampening, web tension and process control systems used in Sunday presses for high-quality commercial offset printing have also been incorporated, along with Goss automation and workflow technologies to reduce makeready requirements and waste.

Variable sleeve Sunday Vpak presses are available as complete production systems, including roll handling and converting components to meet various application requirements.

CPP is billed as the premier event for the converting/package printing marketplace with a unique program which brings together all disciplines under one roof from printing processes including flexo, gravure and digital, to finishing that focuses on coatings, laminating, drying and more.

The show is an essential date in the calendar for packaging printers looking for new economic advantages, according to Walczak, “Our variable-repeat presses, our commitment and our resources allow packaging producers to pursue web offset production advantages in ways not previously possible and CPP is the ideal show to present this game-changing technology. We would also like to invite interested parties to come see the technology running at our facility in Durham, New Hampshire.”

Goss International is also offering complimentary show passes to CPP EXPO. These are available by registering at www.cppexpo.com/?source=12GOS or visiting www.cppexpo.com, clicking on “Register Now” and inputting source code: 12GOS.
