Xerox's Confident Color Gives Printers Competitive Edge

Press release from the issuing company

Printers competing for profitable color jobs are using Xerox’s Confident Color program to ensure the finished product not only meets customers’ demands but generates repeat business.

Confident Color takes the uncertainty out of color management, so repeatable, consistent color can be achieved quickly and easily. Realizing this can’t be done with technology alone, the program includes consulting, business development, partner services and custom solutions.

“As print professionals deal with different printing devices, usually in the same plant, the need for color consistency is critical. Xerox has faced this challenge and brought reliable color printing into the 21st century,” said Frank Romano, RIT Professor Emeritus.

Automation Essential to Color Success

On the technology front, Xerox’s digital presses are the only ones that automate all three major steps in the color management process: calibration, profiling and hitting spot colors.

Calibration and profiling are managed with Xerox’s Automated Color Quality Suite (ACQS), which maintains color precision for all applications, including marketing collateral, brochures and direct mail pieces. Automation not only saves time but ensures color consistency on every job and across multiple print engines.

REAL Digital International relies on Xerox’s technology to guarantee color consistency, shorter production times and lower costs.

“With the matte dry ink, the iGen4® EXP presses have allowed us to build a leading market share based on superlative color,” said David Laybourne, managing director, REAL Digital International. “With these presses, we know the color quality will be the same from one sheet to 50,000 sheets. The confidence that instills in our customers is very important.”

Expert Advice, Services and Customized Solutions

For Mimic Print & Media Services, Xerox’s Confident Color helped triple their print volume while delivering consistent color quality on applications such as corporate logos and brochures. The company has also reduced production times – in some cases turning jobs in less than 24 hours.

“Xerox’s color consulting team provided the assistance we needed. The training absolutely gave us a competitive advantage,” said Laura Ambrozic, president, Mimic Print & Media Services. “I don’t believe there’s another color management consultant organization available that can touch Xerox.”

Additional offerings and resources of Xerox Confident Color include:

  • Xerox Production Color Consultants assist with digital press setup and integration with existing prepress and workflow systems. Color Management workshops and G7 Master Printer Certification allows customers to leverage their systems.
  • Customized solutions can be developed for unique color management requirements.
  • Business Innovation Partner Solutions, such as CGS-ORIS, ensure digital and offset work together to deliver matching color.
