Allen Press Wins Two 'Best of Category' Awards in Printing Competition

Press release from the issuing company

March 6, 2012 – Allen Press, Inc. is the winner of two ‘Best of Category’ awards in this year’s Graphic Excellence Awards Competition, sponsored by PIA MidAmerica, the regional trade group of the Printing and Imaging Association. The “Best of Category” recognition is given to the piece judged the best entry that has no visible or technical flaws, within a category in a division. Divisions are determined by the size of the company.

“Receiving a Graphic Excellence ‘Best of Category’ award from Printing & Imaging Association of MidAmerica for the fourth year in a row provides a great sense of accomplishment for our production employees and management staff, and also for our customers,” said Dean Mills, Director of Plant Operations at Allen Press. “Our company remains committed to producing outstanding print products as well as providing exceptional service, and the recognition received by PIA MidAmerica speaks volumes to that dedication.”

The winning pieces are Orchids, Volume 80, Issue 2, a specialty magazine of the American Orchid Society and the Fall 2011 issue of Catfish Alley, a regional magazine published by “The Commercial Dispatch” in Columbia, Mississippi.

Allen Press’ accomplishments will be honored at a banquet this spring in Kansas City. The winning publications will also be entered in the Premier Print Awards competition, sponsored by the national Printing and Imaging Association.
