Press release from the issuing company

Managing Editor Inc. (MEI) today announced that Stephen Arbour, the company’s vice president of technical services, will be presenting at XTech 2012 on Friday, March 16. The educational seminar, hosted by IDEAlliance, will be held at the Embassy Suites O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill., and can also be attended virtually via real-time webcast.

Arbour’s presentation, “Leveraging XML to Enable Cross-Media Publishing,” is part of the XML Case Studies portion of the event’s XML Solutions Track. Arbour will discuss strategies for leveraging XML as a key component of cross-media publishing, focusing on automating print-to-Web, print-to-tablet and XML-to-print-and-tablet workflows. He will also highlight real-life examples from MEI’s custom XML development for a variety of clients.

Arbour has more than 15 years’ experience in software product leadership and development, product management, quality assurance and customer service in the publishing, telecommunications, petrochemical and financial industries. In addition to being a member of the AdsML Consortium’s XMP Working Group from 2000 to 2004, Arbour’s affiliations include membership in the American Society for Quality, the Professional Association of SQL Server Specialists, the Philadelphia Chapter of the Software Process Improvement Network, AgilePhilly and the Project Management Institute.

“MEI has helped some of the biggest names in publishing implement efficient, intuitive cross-media workflows using sophisticated XML solutions,” Arbour said. “This presentation will be a great opportunity to share our unique expertise with a wider XML audience.”

XTech 2012 is a two-day program designed to connect users worldwide with educational seminars showcasing current and emerging media-production technologies driven by XML.
