Toray Plastics Introduces TorayFan F63 Heat-sealable BOPP Film

Press release from the issuing company

Toray Plastics (America), Inc. (www.TorayFilms.com) is pleased to present to consumer-goods companies and converters new Torayfan® F63 heat-sealable BOPP film with improved bonding for a wide range of printing inks. New Torayfan F63 film, developed for use as a print web, is made with a proprietary technology that enables the superior adhesion of water- and solvent-based inks on the print side of the film and thereby allows for the manufacture of exceptionally high-quality printed finished pieces. Now flexible-packaging graphic designers can be more creative and choose with confidence among a wider range of inks when creating packaging graphics. New F63 film is especially well-suited for the use of white inks when opacity is desired. Torayfan F63 film also offers end users and converters the ability to increase manufacturing output. The polypropylene film’s low seal-initiation temperature (SIT) for lap seals enables faster processing on high-speed form-fill-seal equipment. Applications for the new F63 film include salty snacks, baked goods, crackers, cookies, and confectionery items.  Toray Plastics (America), Inc., is the only United States manufacturer of precision-performance polypropylene, polyester, and bio-based films for packaging and industrial applications.

“The ability to manufacture a more attractive package and the capacity for greater output are a winning combination for the CPG and the converter,” says Franco Chicarella, Product Manager, Torayfan Polypropylene Film Division, Toray Plastics (America), Inc. “Either one of those capabilities can help grow business, but to have both advancements available with one film can offer a significant competitive advantage.”
