GSE Dispensing at drupa 2012: (Th)ink Lean

Press release from the issuing company

GSE Dispensing will demonstrate its vision for integrated lean ink management in package printing, under the theme(Th)ink Lean at drupa, Düsseldorf, Germany, Hall 3 - F50.

GSE’s ink logistics offering comprises gravimetric ink dispensing systems, table-top proofing simulation and management software. This offering provides the platform for precision colour quality, improved budgetary control, stock forecasting, reduced make-ready time and material waste.

GSE’s range of modular dispensing systems provides a way of achieving colour on demand, consistently, to precise quality requirements. Suited for the full range of substrates, ink types and volumes commonly used in flexo, gravure and screen package printing, these systems enable ink-yield improvements of over 30 percent, a cleaner colour mixing environment and better stock management.

A show highlight will be the re-launch of the Colorsat® Slim, the affordable ink dispenser for the paper, board and flexible packaging converter. The new version offers greater modularity, improved accuracy and reduced air consumption, and is easy to clean. It is suitable for either solvent or water based inks, and offers competitive dispensing speeds.

Also on display is the Colorsat® Compact, a high performance system designed for fully automated dispensing of up to 34 different water or solvent based components.  The Compact’s dispensing speed is the fastest on the market, making it ideal for flexible package printing situations, where different ink series are needed for compatibility with a variety of substrates and where ink consumption is commonly high.

In addition, GSE has developed a software interface that integrates seamlessly with the printer’s IT system, providing total control of ink budgets, improving stock forecasting and waste reduction. The Management Information Software (MIS) interface provides real-time information such as ink availability, ink recipes and an immediate overview of ink costs per order, enabling a more responsive print value chain.

A GSE associated company Print Proof Solutions will also display its Perfect Proofer™ at the drupa stand. This automated, table-top wet-proofing solution lets ink lab technicians pre-flight their formulations under actual press conditions. As a result, precise colour perfection is possible without the need for re-adjustments on the press. This can potentially cut the make-ready time by half and eliminates significant ink and start-up substrate waste.
