Heidelberg to Present the Dymatrix 106 Pro at drupa 2012

Press release from the issuing company

At drupa 2012, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) will be presenting the Dymatrix 106 Pro high-performance die cutter with new, automatic chase changer. This speeds up the exchange of different cutting dies considerably and extends the die cutter's extensive level of automation further still.

The Dymatrix 106 Pro works with different makes of job-specific die cutting tools, thus enabling businesses that use die cutters from several manufacturers to plan their jobs flexibly. The lower cutting plate can be aligned precisely to the upper cutting tool by carrying out fine adjustments via the user-friendly touchscreen. A revamped sheet brake that cleans itself during production ensures optimum delivery of multiple-ups.

The Dymatrix 106 Pro was developed for short makeready times, maximum productivity, fast setup, and smooth processing of different materials. Folding carton manufacturers and finishing specialists are impressed with its die cutting and embossing for demanding applications at high speeds. It eases everyday processes in packaging printing, an area that is shaped by shorter deadlines between order placement and delivery, higher variation within jobs, and shorter runs. What's more, many customers have reduced their storage operations and are calling for just-in-time production, which demands high flexibility from packaging manufacturers. The Dymatrix 106 Pro with its new chase changer is available immediately and will be on display at drupa in the Packaging Print area in Hall 1 as a response of the HEI End market trend.

DySet Pro sheet alignment system increases net output and maximizes quality

The Dymatrix 106 Pro achieves maximum productivity with the optional DySet Pro sheet alignment system. Delivering quality right from the start - even when processing reel stock - this system ensures that sheets are precisely aligned laterally in line with the print image or printing marks before they are handed over to the grippers. The belt table and feeder make for reliable sheet separation and guidance. The automatic sheet alignment system prevents jams in the feeder and thus increases the net output.

Efficient workflow with Speedmaster XL 105 and Prinect and in non-stop operation with Logistics

With a maximum sheet format of 76 x 106 cm (29.92 x 41.73 in), the Dymatrix 106 Pro is perfectly coordinated with the Speedmaster XL 105. This ensures flexible processing of a wide range of materials at speeds of up to 9,000 sheets per hour and a cutting force of 330 metric tons - paper of 80 gsm and above, card up to a weight per unit area of 2,000 gsm and corrugated board up to a thickness of 4 mm (0.16 in). It is this material flexibility that makes the Dymatrix 106 Pro perfect for both folding carton manufacture using either card or cardboard and label production. High-quality blanks are ensured by a moving upper platen and a register system that delivers absolute register accuracy during die cutting of up to +/- 0.1 mm (0.0039 in). This makes it possible to cut even complex layouts with absolute reliability.

If the press and die cutter are to be run in non-stop operation via Logistics, the pallets and pallet heights of the Dymatrix 106 Pro can be adjusted to precisely match the press. The die cutter can also be seamlessly integrated into the print shop process via the Prinect print shop workflow from Heidelberg. The Dymatrix 106 Pro can be upgraded to a Dymatrix 113 Pro with a sheet format of 82 x 113 cm (32.28 x 44.49 in) if required; the technical features are identical all the way through to seamless integration into the Prinect workflow.
