Fifty years since it first participated in Drupa 1962 with a letterpress, Sakurai Graphic Systems Corp. will present its lineup of fully automated offset and screen cylinder presses in Hall 3 / A90 at Drupa, May 3-16, 2012 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Highlighting the Sakurai exhibit will be the new 580SDC a 23 5/8” x 31 1/8” five-color offset press equipped with coater and extended delivery; a 31 5/8” x 21 ¾ MS-80SD Maestro Servo-Driven cylinder screen press with Sakurai’s industry first optical camera registration system plus a Sakurai a MS-102AII ultra-high precision cylinder screen press with a 29 1/2” x 41 5/16” sheet size. Sakurai screen presses will be operating in-line with Natgraph curing systems and stackers.

SAKURAI 80SD SERIES FULLY AUTOMATED OFFSET PRESSES

Sakurai’s new 80SD Series sheetfed offset press is available in four through six color configurations plus coating and perfecting and features many new standard features designed to improve productivity and performance.

The fully automated 80 SD Series operates at 15,000 IPH and in addition to its generous sheet and image size and double diameter, 7-o’clock cylinder configuration is equipped with numerous standard features to increase productivity, performance and profitability, including:  Plate changers, Sheet size presets (feeder, delivery and impression), Automatic, programmable blanket and ink roller washers with water rinsing, CIP 3-4 with JDF compatibility, QSS (Quick Standby System) with pre-inking and de-inking features all  designed to shorten makeready.  In addition, several new safety features have been incorporated to further protect operators in a high production, automated environment.

The Sakurai 80 SD’s maximum sheet size of 23 5/8” x 31 1/8” allows ample room for 6-up 8½” x 11” and makes it possible to perfect, or work and tumble 3 panel jobs with bleeds and color bars.  Sakurai’s three quarter size format provides up to a 50% productivity boost to half size printers.  The increased capacity of the 6-up format combined with a maximum running speed of 15,000 IPH now bridges the gap between traditional half and full size markets.

SAKURAI MAESTRO MS-80SD CYLINDER SCREEN PRESS

The ultra high precision Maestro Servo Driven MS-80SD features an industry first optical camera registration system and monitor designed to improve registration and performance. The 31 5/8” x 21 3/4” MS-80SD operates at speeds up to 2,000 IPH and accepts stock from .001” to .0031” with precise registration. The Maestro prints on a wide range of substrates such as plastic film for electronic applications, membrane switches, display panels and touch screens, etc, as well as paper, board and foil.  The MS-80SD will be operating in-line with a Natgraph combination dryer and stacker.

SAKURAI MAESTRO MS-102AII CYLINDER SCREEN PRESS

The 29 ½” x 41 5/16” Maestro MS-102AII, ultra-high precision cylinder screen press operates at speeds up to 4,000 IPH and accepts stock from .003” to .032” thick with precise registration. The Maestro is capable of printing on a wide range of substrates such as plastic film for electronic applications, membrane switches, display panels, touch screens, etc, as well as paper, board and foil.  Operating in-line with a Natgraph UV dryer and stacker, the Maestro is the press of choice for accurate spot coating and specialty effects printing including glitter, tactile, soft touch and raised UV and a myriad of other specialty finishes.
