W+D-Langhammer Delivers Repacking Unit for Cheese Blocks to DMK Deutsches Milchkontor

Press release from the issuing company

W+D-Langhammer will deliver a repacking unit for Euro blocks to the DMK Deutsches Milchkontor GmbH in Nordhackstedt. The company is the result of the merger of Humana Milchindustrie GmbH with Nordmilch GmbH and since then has become one of the leading companies in the European milk industry.

The installation at the new shipping warehouse not far from Flensburg, Germany consists of two units and each is equipped with an articulated arm robot. The first robot depalletizes the ripened cheese blocks in pairs, picking them directly out of the ripening box and feeding them singly to the central weighing and labeling unit. The second robot takes over the task of palletizing. With a multiple gripper the cheese blocks are grasped via suction cups and then placed in Multiplace-Cycle in variable fashion onto the shipping pallet. A speed of up to 600 blocks per hour can be achieved.

The patented Interleaf "Woodpecker" ensures additional processing safety. The special pre-separation unit lifts the top interleaf and separates it from the stack below. In this way the interleaf can be quickly and safely removed by the gripper of the palletizing robot and placed onto the pallet. The installation is rounded out with tried and true conveyor technology. The operation of the complete installation is carried out from a central position via a Siemens Multi-Panel.
