2012 Franklin Event Power of Communications Awards Recipients Announced

Press release from the issuing company

Printing Industries Alliance’s Franklin Event Committee announced today the names of three outstanding individuals who will be the recipients of the prestigious Power of Communications Awards, bestowed during the Event’s 60th Anniversary on September 19, 2012 (5:30-10:00 pm) at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan.

The honorees include:  Thomas Saggiomo, President & CEO, DG3 Group for Printing; Kit Taylor, Chief Operating Officer, New York Media LLC for Publishing; and Paul Nicholson, Senior Vice President, Production & Technology, Showtime Networks Inc. for Advertising.

“In addition to saluting Howard Draft, Executive Chairman of Draftfcb with the Franklin Award for Distinguished Service—the industry’s highest recognition—these three respected individuals also will be feted for their extraordinary accomplishments  by more than 350 CEOs, senior executives and industry peers,” noted Event Co-Chairs Martin Maloney (Broadford & Maloney, Inc.) and Brenda Barozzi (Pipeline ps.) “Our 60th Anniversary gala promises to be one of the most exciting Franklin Events ever held since its 1952 inception.”

The Power of Communications Awards were established in 1971 by the former Printing Industries of Metropolitan New York (PIMNY) to provide industry recognition for those who have demonstrated positive influence and creative excellence in graphic communications. The first award recipient was Henry Luce III of Time Incorporated and many other prominent individuals have followed since.

Companies interested in sponsoring the event—and reducing budget costs during a still-challenging economy—may take advantage of new discount rates and deadline dates for Platinum level ($5,000 for reserved table of 10) and Gold ($2,500 for reserved table of five.)  Persons who commit by February 28 will save 20% ($4,000 and $2,000 respectively); 15% by March 16 ($4,250 and $2,125); or 10% by June 30 ($4,500 or $2,250.) Full prices will be applied after this date. Payment also must be remitted within 30 days of commitment to guarantee the discounted rate. Sponsors will be prominently mentioned throughout PIA’s extensive print/electronic/social media campaign, website roster, printed program, table and venue signage.  Individual tickets are $350.  For more information, contact PIA Vice President Vicki Keenan at (908) 233-4124, [email protected], or visit PIA’s website at www.PIAlliance.org.
