Standard Press, Atlanta’s oldest independent printer, announced today they are celebrating 80 years in business. 

“From the business that started in my grandparent’s garage to the full-service print and cross-media solutions provider we are today, I am humbled to be celebrating this important milestone,” said Andy Shulman, Standard Press President.  “As a business committed to applying the customer-driven philosophy the company was originally founded on, I believe our dedication to caring about the people we serve and working hard to be a resource for them is what has allowed us to remain in business for 80 years.”

In 1932 with $139, Harry and Ruth Shulman transformed Standard Press from a business built in their garage to one of Atlanta’s first full service printers.  In the 1960’s the Shulman’s son, Harvey, became company president.  A business savvy leader, Harvey played a vital role in the tremendous growth of Standard Press throughout the 70’s and 80’s.  Following his unexpected and tragic death in 1997, Harvey’s wife and his son – current Standard Press President Andy Shulman – assumed the day-to-day management of the company.

For the past 15 years Andy Shulman has been leading the Standard Press organization, working diligently to integrate new tools and solutions in order to better serve the needs of the company’s clients.  From investments in the latest printing equipment to providing cross-media, mailing and fulfillment solutions, Standard Press has and will continue to provide services which help customers achieve their marketing and sales goals.

“2012 promises to be an exciting year for our company,” continued Shulman.  “We’ve come so far in the past 80 years, and I can only imagine where Standard Press will be in the next 80 years.”
