Roll Systems Highlights From Xplor 2003

Press release from the issuing company

Atlanta, GA (October 26, 2003)-- At the Xplor 2003 Global Conference & Exhibit held this week in Atlanta, Roll Systems is exhibiting the latest version of its TwoUp System, the most versatile post-processing system available. Equipped with options and features available only at Roll, the TwoUp allows the company's customers to compete for more business, grow revenue, and make their print operations more efficient. TwoUp System unwinds rolls, and cuts, slits, merges and stacks sheets from high-speed continuous digital printers. The latest TwoUp options and features exhibited at Xplor in Roll booth #425 include: * Running micro-perforator: Mounted on TwoUp's unwinder, precisely perforates in the process direction to create tear-out sheets in workbooks and manuals. * Hole punch: An in-line module, operator selectable to avoid changing stocks, easy on-off. Three-hole or A4 2/4 hole patterns are available. Hole punch option saves money on paper and reduces form inventories. * Strip cut / Gutter cut: This cutting combination creates four-sided full-bleed sheets from pre-printed forms for high-value applications. Strip cut can be used alone to remove perforations and registration marks between forms. * Precise page offset: This capability eliminates unwanted pad pages between sets, saving money on paper and maintenance charges while increasing productivity. * Post-cutter buffer: This feature of Roll's recently introduced descending stacker buffers sheets, not the web, eliminating jams due to buffer-generated curl and providing continuous stack formation. In addition to a standard two-across slit/merge application, TwoUp System will be shown running three-up 6 x 9 books. Three-up processing takes advantage of the wider web digital printers available now, increasing productivity and reducing printer usage charges. The wide conveyor allows for full job offset with comfortable room between the stacks for easy removal by the operator. Stack quality is sufficient for binding without jogging. Jules Fried, senior vice president of Roll, is leading off a multi-speaker presentation with IBM and the US Internal Revenue Service on print assurance for high volume production printing. The presentation will address print process, quality, content, tracking and authentication requirements. John Smith of the IRS will discuss how they implemented Roll's Web Vision System to achieve significant benefits. Roll's Roll-to-Fold System can be seen on one of Xplor's new facility tours, at BellSouth's Alpharetta Bill Distribution Center, feeding an IBM Infoprint 4100. Two Roll Systems Inserter Unwinder Model 3s will be shown in the Böwe Bell & Howell booth (#737) feeding Böwe Bell & Howell inserters. Inserter unwinders bring the benefits of roll feed to the mailroom, as inserters run much longer between loads and jams are virtually eliminated.
