Press release from the issuing company

The International Association ClimateCalc(ClimateCalc) is participating in the PrintCity Alliance Lean & Green project Making The Print Value Chain Leaner & Greener, plus in drupa 2012 related activities.

Benoit Moreau, Environmental & Safety Manager, French Printing Federation – UNIC, representing ClimateCalc will be one of the speakers at the joint PrintCity / World Print & Communication Forum International Environmental Conference at drupa on May 10. Visitors can pre-register for this conference at http://www.amiando.com/LEAN_GREEN

Drupa visitors will find a special PrintCity information area for Lean & Green Opportunities in the centre of Hall 6. This special zone will have a focus on improving economic & environmental performance. It will be manned by a range of environmental, sustainability & business efficiency experts from many international organisations, to answer questions and give advice on good practice.

Dennis Geelen, Environmental Advisor, Belgian Printing Federation – FEBELGRA, speaking forClimateCalc confirms, “The International Association ClimateCalc is partnering strongly with PrintCity on its Lean & Green project for several reasons. Firstly, it is essential for us to have a close partnership with printing industry suppliers because the accuracy of carbon emission calculations largely depends on the quality of the data from the suppliers concerned. The experience and organisation of PrintCity make it an ideal exchange platform to develop trust between its members and those of ClimateCalc. Our joint discussions allow us to improve the calculation and communication of climate related issues.

Geelen concludes, “Secondly, we are convinced that a mature environmental understanding allows the identification of cost reduction sources. Therefore, PrintCity’s Lean & Green programme is in complete agreement with the strategy defined by ClimateCalc.”

John Dangelmaier, President of PrintCity, confirms, “We welcome ClimateCalc’s involvement in our Lean & Green project and its presence at drupa. Their industry-leading knowledge regarding accurate carbon emission calculations complements the inputs from other organisations, to provide visitors with first-hand information.”
