Esko and PriscoDigital to Team Up at Dscoop7

Press release from the issuing company

It is quite rare when visitors can see a live demonstration of a complete, practical production workflow, from design to print to cut. However, right next to HP at the Dscoop7 exhibition, March 22-24 in Washington, DC, will be a large 20’ x 40’ booth where Platinum Sponsors Esko and PriscoDigital will demonstrate just that.

Prisco and Esko will be creating, printing and finishing 3D POP / POS displays as well as some interesting 2D samples. The wide-format inkjet workflow will feature an Esko icut Suite front-end workflow, preparing files for print while creating cutting instructions for the finishing table. PDF print files will travel to a Caldera RIP before being printed on an HP Scitex FB 700 Printer. Printed sheets will be cut on an Esko Kongsberg i-XP 24 finishing table. The complete solution is perfect for anyone who needs to create printed material requiring multiple shapes and cutouts. The booth will also highlight the HP Scitex LX 850 printer and the complete Esko Suite 10 portfolio of packaging workflow solutions. Prisco and Esko welcome Dscoop attendees to schedule personalized demos.

“Many companies forget that printing is just one component of getting a job out the door. Finishing is required, too. Esko has both the finishing hardware and structural and graphic workflow software to cover all aspects of a job. Print providers can expand capabilities to new applications making the world less rectangular with creative 3D packaging and display projects,” remarks Eric A. Gutwillig, VP of Marketing for PriscoDigital. “Meanwhile, you still need a good digital press up-front. What makes the FB 700 digital press special is that it is geared to anyone who needs to create printed materials that require multiple shapes and cutouts — from packaging comps to displays. It can allow print providers to expand their capabilities to new applications.”

Prisco is both an HP Scitex “Graphic Specialist” top tier dealer to commercial printers as well as an Esko reseller, enabling PriscoDigital, the digital division of the Prisco Group of Companies, to sell Esko’s Kongsberg finishing tables and software solutions to commercial printers in the U.S. and Canada. The company is looking forward to talking with commercial printers at Dscoop and helping them move from analog, screen, offset and similar print technologies to wide format digital inkjet.

i-cut Suite offers professional tools to streamline workflows — in 2010 it was the first workflow to offer sign & display shops a complete, integrated solution. Since then, i-cut Suite has seen rapid popularity throughout the world. i-cut Suite components include: icut Preflight to handle efficient preflighting and editing of incoming PDF files; i-cut Press ReleaseLayout, a module for interactively building and editing sheet layouts; and i-cut Vision Pro, to ensure that die-less cutting contours match printed images perfectly. With i-cut Automate, all of these functions can be automated in a single workflow, with less operator intervention required and fewer potential manual errors. Users with more specific requirements can easily add supplementary modules.

The Kongsberg i-XP 24 is the world’s fastest digital finishing system, helping turn shortrun POP / POS display work into profitable, value added jobs, allowing sign and display shops to offer their customers on-demand production with just-in-time delivery. With a maximum working area of 87”x126” and a maximum speed of 66” ips (inches per second), the i-XP series can convert a wide range of board, sheet and roll materials. Prisco is both an HP/Scitex ‘Graphic Specialist’ top tier dealer to commercial printers as well as an Esko reseller, enabling PriscoDigital, the digital division of the Prisco Group of Companies, to sell Esko’s Kongsberg finishing tables and software solutions to commercial printers in the U.S. and Canada. The company is looking forward to talking with commercial printers at Dscoop and helping them move from analog, screen, offset and similar print technologies to wide format digital inkjet.

“Prisco’s expertise is evident as the HP Graphics Specialist distributing HP Scitex wide format inkjet systems to commercial printers — while Esko brings value before and after print, offering the workflow and finishing tools to support wide format digital presses,” comments Bill Hartman, Vice President Business Development, Digital Finishing. “There are very few shows offering live demonstrations where people can see a complete, practical production workflow. Prisco and Esko have combined to build a complete design to print to cut demonstration at Dscoop that offers time savings and cost solutions to HP Scitex printer owners. And the best part is that printers can make money from this. This is a real, profitable solution.”
