Gap Intelligence Upgrades Online Data Center

Press release from the issuing company

Gap Intelligence, a premier market research firm for the technology and consumer electronics industries, today rolled out a new release of its popular online Data Center (DCv3 R5).

Gap Intelligence clients use the hosted, secure library of up-to-the-minute market research to access reports, pricing and promotions data for categories such as computers, digital cameras, printers and emerging markets.

“This latest version combines the most popular elements of the old Data Center, but adds a number of new features that makes the experience of gathering and sharing our information more effective and fun than ever before,” said Gary Peterson, president of Gap Intelligence. “All of our current innovations came from the insightful feedback we received from our clients last year.”

One of the most popular features from the previous Data Center was the “information cart” system for downloading and sharing reports that mimics online shopping. In the new version, clients can create unlimited shopping carts of research with a unique URL, so instead of emailing a massive ZIP file, users simply copy and share the link so others may download directly to any machine.

Other DCv3 R5 enhanced capabilities include:

  • A customizable landing page for users to quickly find the latest information on the categories they follow
  • The ability to post secure comments on market intelligence reports
  • A digital archive of weekly retail advertisement circulars with one click sharing functionality

“The current Data Center is in its third generation and has to be ever-evolving in order to satisfy our clients’ appetite for moment-to-moment content,” said Chris Barnes, vice president of Gap Intelligence. “Our goal is to create a space where users can quickly find, share and discuss actionable market research with each other on a secure platform.”

The next refresh of the Data Center is set for summer of 2012 with the launch of DCv4 where Gap Intelligence intends to combine timely market research with social networking. Please send questions, comments and suggestions to [email protected].
