Heidelberg expands availability of Digimaster 9110m

Press release from the issuing company

ATLANTA, Oct. 26, 2003 — Customers around the globe can now take advantage of the value proposition of Heidelberg’s award-winning Digimaster 9110m print system, which is now available worldwide. Here at the Xplor Global Conference & Exhibit, Heidelberg is showcasing its Digimaster 9110m print system for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) printing. Designed specifically for data centers and transactional printing environments, the 9110m system features MICR toner and special MICR fonts for a variety of applications, including printing checks, rebates, coupons and other financial documents. Heidelberg’s MICR printing solution also offers the ability to switch toner stations, enabling operators to use standard toner when MICR is not required — so customers can employ one device for both MICR and non-MICR printing. The device, launched last year in North America, enables digital MICR printing of documents at the full-engine speed of 110 images per minute and delivers industry leading reader-sorter performance. “In a short time, our Digimaster 9110m print system has received industry praise and helped North American transactional printing and data center market customers produce outstanding MICR printing,” said Wolfgang Pfizenmaier, president of Heidelberg’s Digital Print Solution Center. “Now, customers worldwide will benefit from the device, which has changed the face of on-demand MICR printing by delivering the superior image quality and the productivity customers expect from our Digimaster product family.” The Digimaster 9110m system meets or exceeds the most stringent performance requirements, including the certifications of PIRA Grade 1 and APACS, and it conforms to ANSI standards. It was recently recognized as one of BERTL’s best products of the year for outstanding innovation and design in a high-end CRD device. Heidelberg’s 9110m device is engineered for the added security and flexibility demanded by MICR output. • The ability to switch toner stations enables operators to use standard toner when MICR is not required. • MICR fonts are automatically disabled when the MICR toning station is removed. • Users can employ a restricted-secure mode setting to control use of the MICR toner within their business. • Toner bottles and toning stations are keyed to prevent inadvertent use of the wrong toner. • The machine allows multiple applications and job streams on the same engine. Like the other Digimaster solutions, the Digimaster 9110m system provides a short, straight paper path for superior paper handling and a resolution of 600x600 dpi. It also can be configured with a range of hardware and software accessories, including Imagedirect 665 scanner, ImageSmart software, roll feeders, post-process inserter, booklet maker, perfect binder and stacker. Heidelberg’s Digital Print Solution Center developed the Digimaster 9110m device, which is available to customers through Heidelberg Market Centers worldwide.
