Exstream Software Acquires Connexion Informatique

Press release from the issuing company

October 23, 2003 -- Exstream Software, Inc. announced today the acquisition of Connexion Informatique (CI), located in Paris, France. Posting annual revenues of $2.3 million, CI has provided software and expertise in business document printing since 1986. The newly acquired company, renamed Exstream France and Southern Europe, will continue to develop and support its market-leading advanced function presentation (AFP) software, and immediately establish operations to directly sell and support Exstream's award-winning enterprise personalization software, Dialogue, throughout France and southern Europe. Exstream will make CI's AFP product suite part of its solution mix for worldwide distribution. Customers will benefit from a complete AFP solution, from personalized document creation through post processing in IBM, Xerox, Océ, Scitex and other compatible print environments. The acquisition of Connexion Informatique brings with it more than 200 established customers worldwide who will benefit from Exstream's expanded product line and services. The CI product suite makes it possible for legacy AFP documents to be easily sorted, bundled and consolidated for postal savings and customer convenience; converted to PDF or TIFF formats for online delivery; modified to meet production processing needs; or natively viewed as part of a business application or operational process. With such a broad choice of solutions, companies can enhance the content and delivery of AFP documents originating from various business applications with accuracy and consistency. “This is a very good move for both CI and Exstream, allowing each company to enlarge its territory and expand its presence worldwide,” said Bernard Peteul, former principal of Connexion Informatique and new director of AFP software development for Exstream France and Southern Europe. “Synergy between the two companies in terms of vision, complimentary offerings, technology strengths and industry focus is tremendous, and will benefit our customers and partners in many ways.” The AFP product suite includes many tools, including: AFP-Post to bundle parts of or entire AFP documents, index them and enhance them with barcodes or other content—this product can be used to combine output from Dialogue with AFP output from other applications. AFPXPDF to transform AFP documents into PDF formats. AFP-VIP to view, index and print AFP files. AFPXTIFF to transform AFP documents into TIFF formats. “Finding a complementary partner that is as well-respected in the marketplace as CI contributes immediately to our plans for continued international growth,” said Davis Marksbury, president and CEO of Exstream Software. “This acquisition enlarges Exstream's presence both in reach and in product offerings, highlighting our ongoing commitment to provide businesses worldwide the ability to create all types of personalized communications for delivery through any combination of print and online channels.”
